We are currently seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our Subsurface Team. The position will report to the Subsurface Lead.


  • Support Sval’s portfolio of development and production assets with evaluation of available dynamic data and critical reservoir engineering analyses 
  • Provide clear and concise recommendations and advise management on reservoir-related topics regarding business decisions and strategies, including drainage strategies, reservoir management, well planning, well operations, and production optimisation. 
  • Construct, update and maintain in-house and operator reservoir simulation to aid decision-making and develop resource estimates 
  • Perform analytical reservoir analysis such as material balance, decline curve analysis, pressure and rate transient analysis to QC profiles, aid decision making and develop resource estimates 
  • Coordinate specialised reservoir studies such as PVT and SCAL analysis, DST interpretations and well stimulation 
  • Deliver production profiles and reserves/resources estimates for the various assets and business development opportunities (fields, discoveries and exploration prospects) as part of Life of Field (LOF) process 
  • Represent the company in Resource Committees and reservoir engineering forums to ensure Sval’s interests in licences are communicated 
  • Provide technical support to corporate activities such as bank updates and to Competent Partner Review (CPR) work 
  • Mentor less experienced reservoir engineering staff to drive competency development 
  • To promote, enhance and sustain a strong HSEQ culture within your own discipline

Qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree in Reservoir Engineering or Petroleum Engineering 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience from development and producing assets preferably from NCS
  • Reservoir modelling and uncertainty analysis experience
  • Knowledge user of Avocet, OFM, MBAL, Eclipse/Petrel RE and advanced user of Excel spreadsheets
  • Familiar with decline curve analysis and production forecasting, experience with well test analysis.
