The energy sector is constantly evolving, and to remain competitive, Sval must grasp the changes and challenge established truths. These are some of the reasons why Sval welcomed eleven interns this summer.

CEO Nikolai Lyngø at Sval Energi said: “For us, it is fantastic that we can welcome interns during the summer and will continue to do so in the years to come. Our interns truly contribute to creating value by producing great work but also by bringing new ideas and energy into the company.”

Summer internship experience

Sval welcomed interns from different disciplines to the Stavanger and Oslo offices this summer. They were spread across fields such as asset management, data management, reservoir engineering, G&G, finance, HR, and admin support. During their time at Sval, they collaborated on several projects, socialised with Sval staff, and visited the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA), Offshore Norge and Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

G&G intern Irene Nerhus said: “The internship has left me feeling more prepared to enter the energy sector. It let me experience how it is to work within the exploration field but also provided a broad understanding of how the industry works as a whole.”

Digital Technology and Business Transformation intern Sina Madani said: “Two key takeaways stand out from my time at Sval. First, it is exciting to see that our work will be used for future opportunities at Sval. It shows that our work is valued and that we contribute to making a change. Second, the intern environment was great as it was a mixture of Norwegian and international interns. It made me happy to see so much diversity.”

Sval Energi is set to continue with summer internships in the coming years and already looks forward to welcoming next year’s summer interns.
