Metsälamminkangas wind farm
The wind farm, comprising 24 wind turbines, will be constructed in the municipality of Vaala, North Ostrobothnia. With a capacity of 132 MW Metsälamminkangas is the third largest wind farm in Finland and will via Fingrid, Finland’s national power grid, provide green energy to the integrated Nordic power market, including the ongoing electrification of the Norwegian oil and gas industry.
The wind park is developed, constructed and operated by OX2, and will provide clean energy for more than 30 years. The average annual electricity production will be 404 GWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 80 000 households. Total capital investment (2020-2021) is EUR 182 million, and production start is planned January 2022.
